"A Potion for Love" (also known as "Potion for Love" and previously as "Potion of Love") is a song by AURORA. It was released as the B-Side on the "Cure for Me" vinyl single on July 9, 2021,[1] and was released as a digital single on July 29, 2022.[2]
The song was once considered for The Gods We Can Touch, but it was later scrapped.[3][4][5]
About the song[]
During an AMA on Reddit, Aurora commented:
"It's the sister song to 'Exist for Love' but from the other perspective. Where love does not fill you up, but love has left a big [hole] within you"[6]
"When I wrote 'Exist for Love', a celebration of the love we carry within us, I also wrote 'Potion for Love'. I wanted to also give something to the people who had lost their love. I find it so beautiful how we still find the bravery to give and receive love knowing how it can disappear at any moment. It makes it foolishly beautiful. Painfully delicious. So little connected to the mind and to logic that it makes my little heart want to burst."[7]
In the book, Aurora wrote the following about "Exist for Love" and this song:
"Exist for Love & A Potion for Love
Two sister songs. One for the ones in love. As a reminder of how pure it is, how divine love is. And one for the people in pain. For when the love is over and the ones we kept so close to our hearts, becomes the strangest stranger of them all.
And now I feel like there is balance. Love is found and love is lost. xxxx

Release[]
The vinyl single release sold out within a few hours while in pre-order, but was re-stocked for short periods the following day and on January 24, 2022. The song was mentioned in the promotional text as "an exclusive unreleased single". Later, Aurora stated that the song might be released digitally, or included on a deluxe edition of the album The Gods We Can Touch.[9][6][10]
The song has been performed live during The Gods We Can Touch Tour and was ultimately released on streaming platforms on July 29, 2022, over a year after its original vinyl release.
