"A Soul with No King (Nature Remix)" is a remixed version of "A Soul with No King" by Brian Eno and Biophonica/Martyn Stewart featuring Nature. It was released ahead of the album version on April 18, 2024.[1]
Background[]
On April 16, 2024, Sounds Right (a global music initiative to recognise the value of Nature), in collaboration with EarthPercent and the NGO Museum for the United Nations, posted an announcement of a new song by Aurora featuring "The Greatest Artist of All Time".[2] On the following day, Aurora announced that she would share "something incredibly exciting" on April 18.
About the song[]
Aurora said of her contribution to the project:
"The world is calling for us. And it has been for a really long time. We can feel deep inside of our very core, that something is wrong. Working with my friend Fredrik on 'A Soul with No King' has mended something in me. I understand where my anger comes from. And what to do with it. And having Brian Eno do a remix of our baby has been a dream. He and I are so connected, it felt very right to do something together. For the Earth. From the Earth."[3]
Lyrics[]
I know you know me
And you always will
Like a man with no wisdom
And a soul with no king
Oh, a soul with no king
I know you fear me
Your heart unfulfilled
Like a world with no mother
And a home never built
But if this is what you want
Why speak of right and wrong?
You still go in for the kill
You speak of the devil
Like he's not your friend
When the world starts to burn
Give your water to him
When the world starts to burn
Give your water to him
Call my name
Nothing will ever change
No guilt, no shame
Call out my name
When you need me again
Nothing will ever change
No guilt, no shame
Call out my name
When you need me again
If you know who I am
Why won't you call my name?
If you know who I am
Why won't you call my name?
You know who I am
Why won't you call my name?
You know who I am
Why won't you call my name?
If you know who I am
Why won't you call my name?
