"Echo of My Shadow" is the first track on the album What Happened to the Heart?.[1]
The song was performed live a few days before release at a special event in Paris, France.
About the song[]
Aurora described this song as a feeling of dying, about mourning her past self and coming to peace with that it's okay that she has changed. As well as celebrating changing, going through things and learning from it. This was the first song written for What Happened to the Heart?, and written on the same day as "Invisible Wounds". These two songs are the more personal songs to her.[2] Most of the album was written in public or unsafe spaces, but these two songs were written "in my living room, where it was safe. They came directly from my solitude".[3]
