Michelle Leonard (born 5 June 1973) is a German/British singer and songwriter, based in Berlin. Since 2006, Leonard has co-written multiple songs for singles and albums that charted in Europe, chiefly Germany. As a songwriter she is signed to BMG Rights Management.
Leonard grew up in Germany and attended British schools there. EMI Music Publishing signed her when she was 17. As an artist, Leonard released her first single at age 16, a cover version of "Falling" by Julee Cruise. Leonard's first songs included "Feel So Perfect" together with Cape. This song was used for a pan-European C&A advertising campaign for three years and became a radio hit. Michelle released her debut album "Fragile" in 2009.
She was also the performance and music director for the German theater abroad-project in New York. She directed the musical "Electric Society", staged in 2005 in Cologne, Germany and was a judge in German talent show Popstars in 2009. Leonard has written songs for advertisement campaigns, films, TV productions and for various artists worldwide.
Leonard is a lecturer at the Popakademie (University of Popular Music and Music Business) since 2007, teaching songwriting. In 2011, she started the co-publishing company Edition Dolsira with Universal Music Publishing Group Germany. In 2015, she started her artist project Solamay. A new artist project The Leonard appeared in 2021 with a first solo release in 2025.[1]
