"The Medicine I Need" (originally titled "The Medicine"[1] and "Bloodlines"[2][3]) is an unreleased song by AURORA. It was discovered in early 2021 and was registered on various song repertoires.
The song was once considered for The Gods We Can Touch but it was later scrapped.[2][3][4]
Background[]
In the book, Aurora wrote the following:
"Being human is such an extreme sport. Being alive is such an... intense experience.
We all have our own kind of medication. The thing that makes life a possible thing to execute.
Some people's medicine is so addictive that it is no longer possible to live life without it. Some people's medicine takes them so far away from this world that it is too painful to go back. We should take care of those people. I know from experience. These lost soul are often the most kind-hearted people."[5]
The date "08.12.2020" (December 8, 2020) in the book indicates a possible date of the song being written.
